Nike SB Dunk Low

The Nike Dunk was born in 1985. Having the same technology and structure as the Nike Air Jordan 1, it was released as a basketball shoe. However, it did not really make its way to the basketball spotlight. The funny thing is that Nike had its own line of skating shoes which is the Nike SB but it was underperforming and skaters actually preferred the Nike Dunk over the Nike SB.

The skateboarding market was rapidly growing in the late 90s and early 2000s. Nike was figuring out a way to revamp their Nike SB line to bring it back to life. Bodecker, the General Manager of Nike SB at that time suggested that there's no point in making new skating shoes as they already have one, "The Nike Dunk". Nike revamped the Nike Dunk and in 2002, the Nike SB Dunk made its way to the market.

Today, while still being majorly a skateboarding shoe, you can see Nike SB Dunks pretty much everywhere as Nike is constantly improving not just its technology but also its looks. I personally like it as you can wear it with almost anything and the level of comfort that it brings.

Here are some of the new Nike SB Dunk releases for June 2020:

Ben and Jerry:

Cactus Jack:

Laser Orange:

RayGun:
